Senior Studio Art Major with focuses in Printmaking and Drawing

Throughout my senior year, I created two separate mediums of works with differing themes. Despite the imagery and context of each series being extremely unlike, both had the same overarching theme of being able to confront a specific issue and healing from it. The main subject matter within my drawing series discussed the oppression that the black community faces in American society. In contrast, the prints I made examine the power dynamic between people and our earthly surroundings. The entire body of work is meant to manifests the process and true advancement of serious battles being conquered. Although my collections of works are very contrasting in appearance, they fall under the same sentiment that progression is a necessary practice. The  assortment of artworks discusses the importance of separate issues but when pulled together, it is an open reflection how we can overcome major problems embedded in our own society
